As a fully-licensed health plan, California law requires that we keep your information private, and Scripps Health Plan only discloses your information when coordinating your care or upon your request.

Covered California

If your coverage with Scripps Health Plan ends, we are required by California law to share certain contact information with Covered California to help you obtain other health coverage. You will also receive an annual notice about this information sharing.

What information is shared?

Your name, address, email, and phone number (if available).

Your choice:

• No action needed: Your information will be shared with Covered California if your coverage ends.
• Opt out anytime: You can choose not to have your information shared.

How to opt out:

• Call Customer Service at 844-337-3700, or 
• Email customerservice@scrippshealth.org with your name, member ID, and “Opt Out – Covered California” in the subject line.

California Data Exchange Framework (DxF)

Scripps Health Plan participates in California’s Data Exchange Framework, which allows us to securely share claims and encounter information through a Qualified Health Information Organization (QHIO). This supports better care coordination by giving providers a more complete view of your health history.

Your choice:

• No action needed: Your information will be shared securely to support your care.
• Opt out anytime: You can choose not to share your claims and encounter data.

If you opt out, your providers can still access your information through standard methods such as phone, fax or mail.

How to opt out:

• To stop sharing your claims and encounter data through the QHIO:

• Email customerservice@scrippshealth.org with your name, member ID, and “QHIO Opt-Out” in the subject line.
